UNESCO' Networking Indonesian Museums through common narratives

In 2021, Southeast Asia Services (SEAMS) is UNESCO Jakarta’s technical partner in implementing the ‘Networking Indonesian Museums through common narratives’ pilot.

This project intends to mobilize motivated museum partners in Indonesia and test methods of collectively promoting them and their collections by identifying a series of storylines. In the long term, should the present pilot phase be successful, UNESCO intends to encourage relevant government partners to operationalize it as museum-based educational tourism.

In this pilot project, SEAMS supports UNESCO in implementing, including liaising with network members, supporting in identifying objects related to the identified themes, supporting in digitization of images and research of objects, and undertaking other coordination activities.
